Hunters, anglers and boat owners can now purchase hunting and fishing licenses and register boats for FREE through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) website at www.georgiawildlife.com ! More than 1.2 million hunting and fishing licenses and boat registrations are issued on a yearly basis in the state and this is the first time this service will be offered through the WRD website without a transaction fee. Until now, WRD contracted with two companies who offered sales of licenses and boat registrations via the website with the extra cost of a transaction fee.

"Thousands of Georgians already have taken advantage of this convenient service and we are pleased that we are now able to save them the cost of a transaction fee," says WRD License and Boat Registration Program Manager Mike Hughes. "Not only is this a great service for those who live in Georgia, but it also makes it easy for those who come into our state to hunt and fish. Now, they can simply go to the website and they are ready to hunt, fish or boat when they get here."

Website availability allows residents and non-residents to purchase hunting and fishing licenses and register boats 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Payment can be made using a credit card. Once the application process is complete, the hunting or fishing license can be instantly printed out.
